Traditional
An affordable range made throughout the year, using techniques taught by master basketmakers in the UK and France. The resulting baskets are strong, durable and attractive.
The baskets are lovingly handmade by Julie at her workshop in Oswaldtwistle Lancashire, using British and home grown willow. |
Contemporary
Collections are designed and made at varying times of the year using favourite techniques and applying a variety of weaving methods to unique ideas.
Inspiration is from the world around us, often in baskets from the past and creating items for functionality. Julie's work has been found at numerous contemporary exhibits across the UK. |
Materials
The basketry willow is bought from Somerset and grown at home in Lancashire where varieties have been selected for their colour variations and quality. Special heritage varieties have been sourced and planted that were once grown in West Lancashire, renowned for their very fine baskets. Bark and other materials where used have been foraged from the garden.
