Sculpture
The natural heritage in Lancashire provides inspiration for the willow sculptures, reflecting the landscape and flora and fauna found in the area. Some are made purely from willow, others incorporate hazel for added strength and the larger sculptures are designed with strength a main focus so incorporate metal frames made in collaboration with local metal fabricators. The wooden sculpture bases and handles where used are unwanted offcuts from a local joinery or foraged driftwood.
Sculptures will be released seasonally and the limited editions can be bought in person at Events, Fairs and Online or made to commission. Contact Julie about your project and ideas.

Commissions
Julie has worked on a number of Local Authority commissions in public spaces. These are created using metal frames made by a Lancashire Blacksmith to make them durable and provide a base upon which to layer the willow to weave shapes and form. Large scale work welcomed, as is smaller more unique projects like a recent Scarecrow or The Wickerman for The Dukes Theatre.

Flora and Fauna
There are a variety of woven sculptures ranging from wall hung fish and hares, to dragonflies, butterflies, fish platters, larger scale deer, reindeer, moon gazing hares and more. Julie recently exhibited a flock of birds at the contemporary Nourish exhibition in Farnham. You can create your own creatures by booking onto one of her workshops. If you have an idea for creation, please get in touch.
